A security alarm system is a system designed to detect institution – unauthorized entry into a building area. Security alarms are used residential, commercial industrial military properties for protection against burglary (theft) or property damaged as well as personal protection against intruders.

A typical home security alarm system which includes;

  • A control panel, which is the primary controller of a home’s security system.
  • Door and window sensors.
  • Motion Sensors, both interior and exterior.
  • Wired or wireless security cameras.
  • A high-decibel given or alarm.
  • Yard sign and windows stickers.

The security alarm system control panel is the brain of the system. It carries out the electric function by processing the information it receives from various sensors and responding accordingly. For example, if a door or window is open while the system is disarmed, the control pane ignores the event. But, if a window is opened while the system is alarmed, it will immediately respond by sending to your alarm monitoring center and triggering an audible alarm.

Security alarm system panels have built in communication that transmit and receive signals via a phone line. These signals are sent to a central alarm monitoring center where trained dispatcher will contact you to verify the emergency situation and it necessary, contact the police or fire station on your behalf.

A security alarm system responds to a triggered alarm by activating physical alarms such as a siren and or strobes lights. These devices are used to scare an intruder away from your premises or alert you of a threatening situation such as a fire or the presence of carbon monoxide.

Infrasound detector works by detecting infrasound or sound waves at frequencies below 20hertz. Sounds at those frequencies are inaudible to the human ear. Due to its inherent properties, infrasound can travel distances of many hundreds of kilometers.  Infrasound signals can result from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, gravity waves, opening and closing of doors, forcing windows, to name a few.

The entire infrasound detection system consist of the following components; a speaker as a microphone input, an order frequency filter, an analog to digital converter and finally a MCU processor which is used to analyze the recorded signal.
