Shocking: Most Accidents are Caused By Overspeeding

Sharing is caring!

Over speeding is a condition in which an engine is allowed or forced to turn beyond its design limit. The consequences of running an engine too fast very by engine type and model and depend upon several factors, chief amongst them the duration of the over speed and by the speed attained.

Road Accident refers to any accident involving at least one road vehicle, occurring on a road open to possible circulation and in which at least one person is injured or killed. International acts (murder, suicide) and natural disasters are excluded.

Over speeding is a leading cause of car accidents that greatly increase the risk of injury or death for motorist. Over speeding is a major factor in approximately a third of all traffic fatalities. It always plays a major role in serious injuries caused by car accidents.

Over speeding does not only a cause crash, but it can also make accidents worse when they do happen? The speed of a vehicle is directly related to the impact it causes in crash, which affects the extent of personal injuries in many cases.

The risk injured in a traffic crash is lower for motorists traveling near or below median speed and increased significantly for those travelling, the longer it takes to stop it, potentially resulting in a crash that could have been avoided.

Over speeding can cause a driver to lose control in a turn or when making another maneuver. It reduces the time a drive has to reach to changes in traffic or unexpected emergencies. Speeding does not save time and only increases the danger to themselves, passengers and others.

All drivers are responsible for knowing the speed limit when they are driving. When a driver exceeds the speed limit then they are of course considered to be ‘speeding’—failure to maintain reasonable speed. Some argue that exceeding the speed limit is necessary when the surrounding traffic is going over the set speed limit.

To prevent over speeding car accidents, drivers should observe the four rules, no matter what the speed they are driving at. These are:

  • Plan well in order not to engage in over speeding.
  • Always be observant and careful when trying to speed up.
  • Install a speed governor or limiter.
  • Always overcome the edge and temptation to overspending.
